18 volleyball teams will be coming together to compete against each other playing more than 40 games in total at Copper Box on Saturday 25th February. Little Giants Volleyball will be hosting its first-ever tournament at Copper Box as the club's tournament series normally take place at Ernest Bevin College in Tooting Broadway in South West London.
The 13 hour tournament includes 8 mixed , 5 female and 5 male teams with players from various London clubs competing for gold, silver and bronze medals. It is set to be a memorable experience for all teams to see what it's like to compete in the very same venue as top pros competed in 2012. Copper Box was home to handball, modern pentathlon, fencing and goalball during the 2012 Games.
Little Giants Volleyball's events always include an interesting mix of regulars and new teams. The past tournaments, Diamonds were the winners of the women's and Imperial College was in men's on the 18th December 2016. The last mixed competition on 7th January 2017 was won by Balham Bears Grizzly.Women and Men tournament series have also been quite popular amongst some All Nations teams who are seeking to play together before the big tournament.
The tournament is supported by one of the sponsors of Little Giants Volleyball, #CakeBox Tooting Bec and a Giant Cake will be sent to the venue as a refreshment for the player.
Let's see who will deserve some cake or who will be buying the round of drinks after the tournament?!
